So Wednesday I made my first trip to the dirty Bronx and Yankee Stadium to watch the UConn Husky Basketball team be honored and Kemba Walker throw out the first pitch. Let me start with this, I will never, EVER, go back to the Bronx. It took us two hours to get off the highway and then two hours to get to Yankee Stadium after we got off the highway because we were stuck in gridlock traffic. It was not a good scene. The area of the Bronx we were in was not exactly a good part either. You basically drive through the slums of New York and then see this bright shining baseball field. It might be the worst located stadium in sports. I would have thought a high earning team such as the Yankees would have a better location. But anyway, moving on, the stadium itself was very nice, and empty. It was raining which probably played a factor but Fenway is always full. We had two drunk Yankee fans in front of us heckling a couple war veterans because they were wearing Philadelphia Eagles jackets. They were upset because Desean Jackson carved the Giants up in the last seconds of the game on a punt return to squash them like a bug. The best moment was jumping up in joy, with Yankee fans all around me, when the Orioles hit two home runs.
Overall, the Stadium is nice, although very expensive, TEN BUCKS FOR A HOT CHOCOLATE, but the area is terrible and Yankee fans are just as annoying as I thought.
